A 16 year old recently retired polo pony who had a series of six treatments over 2 months. He was becoming increasingly difficult to ride, being unable to understand any aids that the rider gave him as he was experiencing a lot of stiffness and pain.
When I came to see him, he was unable to move his head and neck, ribs and pelvis properly, and had a dull headache around 9/10. His psychological state was “shut down”. He had a loss of topline and a dry coat, and had excessive weight on the forehand. His Hind end had tears and muscle damage leading to atrophy.
Palumo responded well to treatment, putting on condition quickly. He began to take an interest in the world again, and enjoy life as his body came back into balance and the pressure around his head and neck eased.
